A perforated metal box over a brick base, with a bright sheltered forecourt that belongs to the young people who use it.
Developed with a youth reference group, the centre balances visibility and refuge — open to the street, but with rooms that can be claimed and closed.
The forecourt canopy provides shade, shelter and a strong civic address on an otherwise low-rise suburban block.
Durable, graffiti-resistant materials keep the building looking cared for over the long term.
